Today we celebrated Mackenzie’s 10th birthday with lunch at The Machine Shed, home made ice cream, and a beautiful birthday cake! This weekend I took Mackenzie and two of her friends to Wasserbahn Water Park Resort for her 10th birthday celebration. We had a great time and then went to the Children’s Museum in Iowa City on the way home. Happy Easter everyone! The kids had fun hunting eggs this morning and then we went to Nana and Pop-pop’s house for Easter dinner. Today Mackenzie and William dyed their Easter Eggs. They had a great time and even made a salad to leave out for the Easter Bunny tonight! We’re still enjoying some beautiful weather here in Iowa. The kids had fun playing outside this morning in the bright sunshine. Uncle Jeff came through town today on his way to Minnesota for work. He stayed with us for the night and we all went out to dinner at The Machine Shed. Yum! It is officially Spring – both by the calendar and the weather. We are loving it here at the Meeks house. Lots of outdoor playtime, walking and sunning in our future! Today we celebrated Will’s third birthday (his actual birthday is on the 27th). We had a great day with lots of presents, food, and fun. Today we took William to Niabi Zoo. He loved it! The weather was beautiful and there were hardly any people. Not all of the animals were there and some of the habitats are under construction, but Will didn’t mind or even notice. He got to see the elephants, the giraffes, ride the zoo train and the merry-go-round. They keep getting better! I can’t believe this is March. Hope this pleasant weather lasts and winter is far behind us. Hayden came for a sleepover and we had a science experiment with an old charred pancake we found in the oven! Well, it has been a while again, hasn’t it? Lots going on, but not much time devoted to posting about it here. The month of January is flying by for us. We celebrated the New Year with Nana and Pop-pop. We had a lot of food and exchanged Christmas presents. The following week we celebrated Pop-pop’s birthday. William enjoyed helping Pop-pop open the presents. The next week we celebrated Tim’s birthday where once again William assisted with opening the presents. Finally, we all went up to Dubuque to visit the National Mississippi River Museum. Unfortunately, I forgot the memory card for my camera, so all of these photos were taken on my cell phone. We got to visit with Buddy the Dinosaur and Dan Wardell from Iowa Public Television. William loved seeing them – his first celebrity sighting at not quite 3 years old!
