Shooting at the Farm

This afternoon Tim and I went out to the pond at the farm to practice shooting. Took us a little while to get the rifle sighted in properly, but once we did that we did pretty well. I tried a shotgun for the first time ever. Boy does that thing have some kick to it! My first attempt was right on target – Tim said I shattered the clay pigeon. The second one didn’t go so well. But by then my shoulder was pretty tired so we called it a day!

Change of plans!

We’ve decided to put off the water park for a day or two. The weather has been so nice, we didn’t want to waste a day indoors when we could play outside! Everyone else has gone fishing this morning, so I’m staying at the house to tidy up and get things ready for the coming days. Need to run to the grocery, fold and put away laundry and make some beds. Mackenzie is going to have a sleep over with Aunt Charlene tonight so I’ll need to make sure she has what she needs in her overnight bag. More later!

Another Busy day

Mackenzie and Liz picked up Charlene for lunch today. We ate at Quickies, a cute little place on 6th Street. Then Mackenzie and Liz went shopping around town. The rest of the day was spent playing outside A LOT! William got all muddy again and loved every minute of it. Mackenzie practiced more cartwheels and played catch with Tim.

Tomorrow we’re heading to the indoor water park resort in French Lick. William gets to stay home with Grandma. This is Mackenzie’s reward for doing so well with her tonsil surgery and she’s really looking forward to it. She brought 5 bathing suits for one overnight stay. She’ll probably wear all 5 of them too. Hope to get some action pictures to share tomorrow night!

First Full Day

Today was our first full day in Vincennes. We had a big day. Spent several hours down at the farm this morning (see pictures in previous post), then we came back to the house after lunch and Will took his nap. After his nap there was a lot of playing outside in the yard and across the street and a visit with Diesel (and his family!). Will had so much fun across the street in the woods – he was covered in mud when he came home! Now he’s had his bath and is about ready for bed time. He will sleep well tonight after such a big day!

Mackenzie spent a lot of time out at the farm today too. She also practiced her cartwheels. She’s getting better, but still has some practicing to do. Then she got to hold Diesel for a bit. He really lights up when he sees her. He’s about 4 months old and already knows a pretty face when he sees one!
